Would I be able to put a Floyd Rose tremolo system on my guitar and how much would it cost?
I have an Ltd F-100 electric guitar (here's the link http://www.electricguitarplanet.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/esp_ltd_f100fm_flame_maple.jpg) and I want to get a floyd rose tremolo system put on it. but i don't know if it could be installed on my guitar and I have no idea about the cost. What is the difference between single and double locking floyd roses because i dont know which one to get. Any good advice would be helpful and I live in Australia so please but the price in AU$.
You can but its not worth it.
This is because you have to cut into your guitar to get the floyd rose to fit in, which might ruin the sound of your guitar, and is a pretty scary thing to do in general.. (cutting into the guitar? who wants to do that)
Then actually buying the thing is pretty expensive. A good Floyd rose can cost you atleast $300 new.
And then after that you have to replace the nut on your guitar neck with a locking nut, which requires you to drill through your neck.
To answer your other question. A double locking tremolo unite locks at both the bridge (the floyd rose) and the Nut.

And a single locking tremolo only locks at the bridge. The double locking is better because it will stay in tune much better.
