squier//epiphone//esp guitars?
i know squier and epiphone aren't comparable to esp guitars, but i'm looking for a super cheap guitar to EMG's in.
i found a:
squier HH telecaster
epiphone SG
ESP viper
all under $200.
my problem with the:
tele:
neck shape
SG:
output jack location
viper:
neck heavy
im getting 60//81 EMG's to replace the pickups so i dont care what the guitar sounds like just the features.
i play 2 esp//ltd's already. but im replacing one's PU's w/ domarzio's air norton and PAF Pro.
i would love to have EMG's but am in love with my other ESP's
stock PU's.
if you can please include all the ups and downs you and downs you had with one of these guitars and suggestions on how to fix them.
please no answers that dont apply w/my details.

esp.... i got a viper 400.. with the emg's in it... 81-85.. they are hot biting pickups for the metal leads and smooth warm for blues sounds..... it is heavy yes.. but all viper are not the same... as to the feel ... some are lighter... there is one model i found it was very very light.. viper... i myself would not spend any money to modify a squier or epiphone... i just spend the money and get the better esp like a viper 600 or eq1000... the esp viper is the best substitute for the gibson sg that i have found...just remember if you start building a super cheap guitar.. it will still be made of a super cheap guitar...
