Are Takamine Guitars any good?
I want to get a guitar but I don't know a lot about them. I shopped around and found that I like the Takamine - G-Series 6-String Dreadnought Acoustic/Electric Guitar - Black. My boyfriend told me to get a Washburn. So is this Takamine any good or should I get a washburn or the lady at the store was talking about Martins and Taylors. Im just confused i don't know anything about guitars except for some cords i can read tabs and I know a round about of what I want when it comes to action.
You need to play before you buy to see how it feels, how it sounds, and especially how your hands work with the neck.
Personally, I think Takamine acoustics are really excellent quality - they're the guitars I love to play when I go to my local music store! Washburn has nothing on them, I think, but a lot of it does come down to the exact model matching what you want in terms of sound etc.
Martin and Taylor are both very high end, with a matching price tag. You'll get a good guitar, but you'll definitely pay for it. I think that Takamine is just as good of a brand for being at a slightly lower price point (ie for being a little less expensive).
