Loud static buzz accompanies signal on new guitar amp?
I received a new Roland amp (Cube 30w) a few days ago and whenever I play a signal through it (strike a chord or note) a loud staticky buzz goes right along with it, but then slowly dies off along with the cord/note. In other words the static happens in conjunction w/ the signal, not when the instrument is idle. This is not the normal pickup hum/buzz. Happens through both my electric Strat and an acoustic pickup, so it isn't the pickups or cables. Also happens through either amp channel. No pedals, direct connect. Supposed to be a new amp, got it off eBay and I'm trying to return it. What could cause this, sounds as though the speaker or the electronics can't take the signal?
see if there is a "ground lift" switch on the back
if so, flip it
if not make sure the recept you are plugged into is properly grounded
turn off that dam neon light over there
it is unacceptable and will cause static on some amps and leave others pretty much alone
also move it away from your pc/ any other elec devices
