Is the dean exotica koa acoutic guitar a good quality guitar?
Or are there any other koa model guitars that are between 300 and 500 dollars that you think are better quality guitars?
koa is overrated and unnecessary in a $300-500 guitar. at that price, there is a good chance it is a koa laminate, which essentially means the only thing "koa" about it is the look.
i recommend finding a guitar that costs $500 because of build quality, and one that has a solid top.
also, and this is just my opinion, i believe the simpler looking acoustics end up looking/being better than something like a koa top. its kind of like if someone is always saying theyre great at something, chances are its all talk, but someone who is quiet and modest might be amazing at it.

but the koa is the back and sides, not front. and again, in this price range, it is laminate koa, not solid koa, so its just for looks.
