Whats the difference between a machine polished lip and a chrome lip on a wheel?
I'm getting some new wheels for my car and i wanted to know whats the difference between machine polish and a chrome lip as far as durability and shine. From all the wheels i have looked at online you can't tell the difference in the pictures.
Polished means the actual metal is buffed into a fine shine.
Chrome is a chemical coating that is fussed on. Chrome will eventually "Flake" off, and start to rust underneath. Polished rims will look better in the long run, but both need maintenance, and keep them off the curbs when you park!
