Why do old guitar effects pedals (i.e. 1960's 70's fuzz faces) sound better than the re-issues sold today?
This goes for all effects pedals.
I agree with the aforementioned "better" subjective theory. My own theory is that a lot more thought and care went into producing a better product back in the 60's and 70's. They were more concerned about the tonal output. Now, every company has pedals to push and they're all so generic and disposable. I'd take a vintage (working) unit over a brand new or brand new reissue any day.
