why are Dean Dime Razorback basses becoming so rare?
the guitars and the v's are easy to find but the basses are becoming harder to find. i've wanted that bass since i first started playing. i'm gonna start saving up for one but i'm afraid that by the time i have all the money they're isn't going to be any more. did dean stop manufacturing them? i hope someone can answer this for me.
As to whether they're still being made, go to their website & look.
If they are, one of 2 things: 1) they're scaling back on the number of them that are made &/or 2) they're not being carried in your area so you have to special order one.
If they're no longer in production, it simply comes down to the last ones being sold off & players no longer playing them simply sticking them in the closet rather than selling them off.
If that's the case, the best you can hope for is someone will get desperate for cash in these hard times & sell off their bass. The trick then becomes finding where the guy/gal is selling off their bass & having the $$ to buy when you find it.
They could do it thru Ebay, Craigslist, the local pawn shop, or simply word of mouth (i.e. I heard so & so is selling their bass...), so its a matter of luck.
