Does Anyone Know How To Get More Bass Out Of A BMW?? Is It The Firewall??
I have a 2003 BMW 325i with 2 12" Alpine Type R SWR-1242D subwoofers and a Kenwood KAC-7203 1000 watt 2 channel amp & factory head unit. This was a huge upgrade from the older model Alpine Type R 12'' subwoofers I had running off of a cheap Legacy amp. Maybe i'm just a bass feind and there can never be enough bass for me but I know that my system has got to bump harder than what it is right now. I've been told that the firewalls in Bimmers drown a lot of the bass out but i'm not sure. It pisses me off because i'll be sitting in a cheap little honda with a cheaper system and my head will shake versus mine. Considering my system, does anyone know what I can do to make it sound better without spending $? Does anyone know the perfect balance on the Amp controls? Anything would help.
if the firewall you're talking about is the same firewall i'm thinking, then that isnt the problem. and price isnt always the thing. you have alpine, while they're a good brand, i believe are built more for SQ. so while your friends 'cheap little honda' (which has nothing to do with the speakers putting out sound) they might have some hifonics subs which are better for spl or 'head shaking'
if the amp is matched right to the subs, there's no way to make it louder without damaging something. gotta spend some cash
