Car Audio in limited space?
I'm clueless about Car audio or any audio. I'm restoring a 1977 Porsche 911 and want to get quality sound for no more than $1000.00. I need a reciever, two 6.5" Door speakers , two 4x6 rear speaks and 2 10" subs and a amp.
Problem1:
Very little space. I do not want to cut any holes in the car so I need to find a sub that will fit under the seats. Room under seats is: 14" x 14" under each seat and the Heith is 4" in at the front of the seat and it tapers to 3" at the rear of the seat.
Problem2:
What type of amp do I need? should it go to all the spreakers and the two subs?
Any sugestions?? Any help will be greatly appriciated
Go with Boston Acoustics for all of the speakers. They work great for small spaces and have good sound. I would not use 1 amp for all speakers. You need a mono channel amp for the 2 subs and a 4 channel amp for the highs and mids. Rockford Fosgate used to make some good amps. I personally like alpine for the receiver. You should go listen to a system somewhere. Remember, good sound is not always cheep and cheep sound is not always good. Let me know if you have any more questions. You are also going to have to have good wire with a good system. It makes a huge difference. Go with Monster Cable. It's the best on the market.
